AL6XN Round Bars is a molybdenum-containing, low carbon austenitic stainless steel with higher chromium, nickel, and molybdenum additions for improved corrosion resistance and chemical resistance to sulphurous, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. It displays a high level of adaptability. It will only harden when cold worked, which also increases its strength. UNS N08367 Sheets has great fabric ability and formability, which are typical of austenitic steels, in addition to outstanding corrosion resistance and tensile capabilities.This steel is tougher than stainless, with a long stringy chip, and the use of chip breakers is suggested since resistance rises with molybdenum alloy concentration.
AL6XN Slating Plates offers much improved corrosion resistance in the same conditions, as well as good oxidation resistance in continuous operation to 925° C and intermittent service to 879° C. Because of its low carbon content, this steel may be welded without inter-granular corrosion caused by chromium carbide precipitation, allowing it to be utilised as-welded. AL6XN Bars is resistant to chlorides and other corrosives, thus it can withstand a wide range of conditions. Moderate speeds and steady feeds will reduce the tendency of this alloy to work harden. Because of its low carbon content, it resists sensitization when welded and has stronger creep and tensile strength at high temperatures.
