It has high strength and oxidizing resistance, and although the precipitation process does not harden the material, the cold working of alloy 600 materials can be significantly modified. This material is also useful in chemical manufacturing, heat treatment, soap making, electrical, nuclear, and aeronautical applications. This material is almost resistant to chloride ions and subsequent stress corrosion cracking, except in caustic alkalis, which were stress relieving at elevated temperatures (1650°F / 900°C for 1 hour).
