When subjected to moderately corrosive conditions, it is not prone to weld decay (inter-granular rust). Super Duplex Steel S32760 Sweepolet has good resilience to organic acids and some inorganic acids. It is also used in Chimney and Stack Covers, Storage Containers, Bellows, and other applications. Furthermore, it is frequently selected steel due to its enhanced resilience to creep and rupture, as it is prone to stress corrosion cracking. Copper back-up plates of this alloy are useful for quicker heat rejection, but surface-fusing the copper back up plate is not permitted to prevent cracks in the solder metal. In reality, this substance requires two or three times the energy to make as carbon and alloy steels. It is highly resistant to dry fluorine and is commonly used to manage caustic soda.
Super Duplex 2507 Nippolet can also be used to prevent hypersensitivity and intergranular rust. Because of its excellent mechanical qualities, it is also suitable for high temperature operation. Welded steel, on the other hand, should never be used in extremely oxidising settings because it is susceptible to 'Knife-line' assault. It is easily made and has excellent machinability. With the exception of better inter-granular corrosion resistance due to the titanium addition for stabilisation, it has superb corrosion behaviour. Long-term exposure to temps ranging from 900°F to 1500°F (482°C to 816°C) for this steel may decrease its total general corrosion resistance, but it remains superior to un-stabilized grades.
